In a special Women's Day announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a significant reduction of ₹100 in the prices of cooking gas cylinders. The announcement, made on X (formerly Twitter), aims to alleviate the financial burden on households, particularly benefiting women across the country. PM Modi highlighted that the move would support the well-being of families and contribute to a healthier environment by making cooking gas more affordable.
The reduction in cooking gas prices is aligned with the government's commitment to empowering women and ensuring 'Ease of Living' for them. The gesture is part of the celebration of International Women's Day, emphasizing the government's dedication to supporting Nari Shakti.
Additionally, the government has extended the subsidy of ₹300 per LPG cylinder to poor women under the Ujjwala Yojana for the next fiscal year, starting April 1.
